“My purpose is to touch hearts, fire imagination and invite courageous action to better serve our world. All my work is aligned to this mission.”

Mac Macartney

Everything I offer has its source in experiences that are spiritually informed by nature. The spirituality I refer to is practical, familiar, and observable in every sunrise, sunset, blade of grass, birth and death. It is numinous, kind, and generous. It beckons, and I respond, tracking ‘the invisible path’.

I am several things at once, all bundled together. I scout, explore, and test edges. I venture into places I find frightening, bewildering, delightful, funny, and sad. I follow trails, always curious, often nervous, searching to discover. I am often referred to as an elder. I do my best to honour this title and to be worthy of the trust shown in me. I am a student of life –  learning and unlearning all the time. I make mistakes which I attempt to rectify. Occasionally I get good grades. I mentor and guide when invited to do so. A vigorously lived life yields many lessons that can be shared with others.

I have been deeply touched and informed by the wisdom traditions of various indigenous peoples and over many years have been the beneficiary of their mentorship and guidance. This prolonged and challenging training has profoundly influenced my worldview and continues to inform all aspects of my work.

I was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Education by Plymouth University for my work in service to the community and youth, and received the Enlightened Society Award from Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2013.

Alongside my own UK company, I co-founded leadership development consultancies in Poland and Russia.
